The Caliph's House: A Year in Casablanca by Tahir Shah Tahir Shah is a very entertaining storyteller. Even as his dream house turns into the money pit and the term culture clash rises to new extremes, he manages a journalistic and wry tone. I would never do what he did, but it was fun to read about. --Mary Robideaux

Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival by Yossi Ghinsberg I love truth is stranger than fiction books. This one kept me up late finishing it. Once you start, you won't be able to put it down.

The Lady and the Panda by Vicki Croke This is the most unlikely story you will have read in a long time--and it's al ltrue. Against all odds, a Manhattan socialite successfully delivers two panda cubs to an American zoo. --Mary Robideaux

The Closers by Michael Connelly Harry Bosch is out of retirement--and assigned to the unsolved (cold) case unit. It is a perfect fit for him, and one of the best Bosch books. --Jean Ann

Glass Soup by Jonathan Carroll From the author of "The Wooden Sea," comes this novel described as "imaginative fiction." Full Circle's Connie highly recommends this and warns readers not to be scared off by its fantasy element. Author Dan Chaon says, "It is a tender, funny love story, both madcap and darkly metaphysical: a singular creation that further adds to the fabulous Carroll oevre."

Conspiracy of Fools by Kurt Eichenwald Excellent!! Good reporting and an exciting style make even the accounting details palatable. I am raving about this one. Also recommend as highly--his previous book "The Informant."
